The tool set for making a hole and thread for melt pressure sensors contains all the necessary drills and taps for preparing a standard M18x1.5 sensor mounting hole.  Kit  contains a special pilot drill which is needed to machine the saddle  by 45 °. All tools included in this set  they are made of high quality tool steel. When producing a thread, attention must be paid to precise drilling speed, lubrication and perfect concentration. Furthermore, before mounting the sensor, we recommend checking the thread, this is done by the paint that is applied to the test tip. After the test, the paint can be damaged
(scratched) only on the bevel and the 45° bearing surface.  If it is damaged in other places, it means that the thread was not made correctly. In case of confusion, do not hesitate to contact us.

Suggested procedure

Step 1:
Drill the hole with a 9/32" drill bit. (7, 14mm)
< div>Step 2:
Clean the surfaces using a 5/16 " (8.0mm) reamer
Step 3:
Check the mounting hole and calculate the required hole depth of 11.47mm / 11.65mm" leaving a minimum length of 5.72mm" for the 5/16 diameter hole (8 ,0mm)" . Using a 29/64 drill bit, drill the depth calculated above, allowing for the small allowance needed in step 7.

Step 4:
If necessary, drill 17/32" so that approximately 1" of the 29/64" opening length was left.

Step 5:
Make an M18x1.5 thread (with a taper) get as deep as possible without hitting the taper seat area that was made with a pilot drill.

Step 6:
Finish the thread with a tap M18x1.5 tap to
the bottom to the landing surface of the hole.

Step 7: 
Check the entire finished thread with the control color
