Dynisco's Vertex melt pressure sensor innovation matches or even surpasses traditional sensor performance. The big differences are that the Vertex is more robust, much faster and significantly more environmentally friendly. The direct measurement tip has a simple and elegant design with a more robust membrane. Direct process measurement reduces errors that are carried over by complex internal support structures, transfer packing materials or moving rods. Diaphragm thickness depends on the pressure range and can be up to 7.5 times thicker than a traditional sensor. Add to these features an Inconel 718 membrane composition coated with corrosion and abrasion resistant Dymax® and you have the true definition of a robust sensor, proven to increase sensor life and significantly reduce cost of ownership. Innovations in the Vertex design also relate to sensor response speed. Faster processes and controls require faster sensor measurements. Vertex is many times faster than traditional sensors, improving real-time production.
Environmental regulations and corporate conscientiousness drive sustainability policies and programs in companies large and small. Reducing the waste stream and extending the lifespan is good for the environment and the budget. There is no mercury, no NaK, no oil, no gallium, no filler material of any kind. Vertex is also RoHS compliant. Vertex sensors are designed to work with universal pressure indicators. HART digital communication is available for more extensive diagnostics and remote configuration. An optional J or K type thermocouple is available to provide a melt temperature signal as well as a 4-20mA temperature output. The Vertex features a 1/2-20 UNF thread for installation into standard sensor mounting holes. An adapter is also available to install 1/2-20 UNF units in a button seal application. If washability is required for food or medical applications, a sealed welded jacket and electrical connection are available (not available if TCx thermocouple option is selected).
